Nancy Lopez Legacy - Staff
Steve Hanson PGA Professional & Facility Manager
Steve joined Lopez in August of 2009. Prior to that he was with the Country Club of Bristol TN., where he served as the General Manager since 2004, and prior to that role he was the Head Pro since 1997. He’s originally from Iowa; a “farm boy” who loves to get to the job early and is willing to work long, hard hours to make great things happen. He graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in Professional Golf Management. He is married to his wife Brenda and they have four children, two girls who have graduated from college and a set of twin boys, who are seniors in high school and play for the school’s golf team.
Jack Affeldt Assistant Manager - Inside
Hometown: Santa Rosa, CA
Jack started with the Aqua Range in 2003 and then transferred to Mallory Hill when it opened to 2005. He then moved to Lopez in February of 2009 as Assistant Manager. Prior to coming to The Villages in 2002, he lived in Santa Rosa, California with his wife, Sharon and 3 children. There he owned and operated an office furniture manufacturing company. He enjoys golf, playing cards, gardening and Florida Gator football and basketball.
Dave Hatton Assistant Manager - Inside
Dave moved to The Villages in June 1997 from St. Louis, MO. He worked for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 30 years and retired December 1991. His first 12 years in The Villages have been wonderful and is looking forward to the next 20 or so. He started work for the golf division in 2002 in the Nancy Lopez Golf Shop and was promoted to Assistant Manager. He briefly retired again in 2006 and was fortunate enough to be rehired as Assistant Manager at Nancy Lopez in 2009. Dave enjoys playing golf, reading and spending time with his wife Joyce.
Jim Mikol Assistant Manager - Outside
Jim became the Assistant Manager of Outside Operations for the Executive courses associated with The Nancy Lopez Legacy CC in 2002. The 4 Executive courses Jim supervises are Amberwood, Oakleigh, Briarwood and Walnut Grove. Being a member of the PGA for 31 years, Jim still enjoys playing the game and staying connected to golf. Jim and his wife, Janet, moved to the Villages in Nov 2001. Hobbies include golf and traveling to Orlando to visit his children and grandchildren.
B.J. Johns Assistant Manager - Outside
B.J. retired as Director of manufacturing, Sony Music, march 1996. He has lived in The Villages going on 14 years. He joined the Country Club Division team in September of 2002 and was promoted to Assistant manager in June 2008. B.J. enjoys The Villages and working in the Golf Division and looks forward to many more years.
